This promises to be equal parts ridiculous and super cool. Mostly super cool. But also mostly ridiculous.
The Brewery was a great rock venue in Raleigh up until today when it was demolished. Opened in 1983, The Brewery hosted many of the great rock acts of the past three decades. Bands that have graced the stage on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh range from Ryan Adams to Blind Melon, KoRn, and even Paramore.
Some artists seemed to enjoy the plywood floors enough to come back with multiple acts. Butch Walker has played the stage many times, as both a solo artist and with bands like Marvelous 3.
Though it may have been among the dirtiest venues in Raleigh, I spent many good nights here, listening to too many good bands to name. I’ll miss the place.
