I caught this as soon as I saw it happening in this week’s Once Upon A Time (Episode 1.10 “7:15 AM”).
Quite obviously a direct reference to LOST Episode 1.5 “White Rabbit” where Locke saves Jack.
The angles are the same, and so is the script.
LOST Episode 1.13, “Hearts and Minds”
“If there was one person on this island I would put my absolute faith in to save us all, it would be John Locke.”
LOST Episode 1.7 “The Moth”
“Struggle is nature’s way of strengthening.”
LOST Episode 1.6 “House of the Rising Sun”
“But you have to give the Island something.”
LOST Episode 1.5 “White Rabbit”
A lot happens in this episode. It’s all great, especially if you’ve already seen the whole series.
Locke saves Jack, and
“What if everything that happened here happened for a reason?”
And of course,
“If we can’t live together… we’re going to die alone.”
